Countries we will be visiting
The 2025 Grand Journey will take place in de summer of 2025, between week 31 and week 34. This means that if you want to participate, you need to be available between July 28th and August 24th 2025. The countries we will be visiting are:
South Korea
Singapore
Indonesia
Our goals
Our study trip will include different levels of companies in which the students can broaden their knowledge. There has to be a mix between starting and longer running companies, between small and big companies and between high- and low-tech companies.
The main goal of the study trip is to introduce students to the maritime industry and other related industries on an international level. The study trip will offer several examples of maritime industry that cannot be found in the vicinity of The Netherlands.
The study trip also aims to introduce the students to different cultures and make them aware of the differences between the Netherlands and those cultures. Therefore, in at least one of the two countries it is aimed to visit an educational institution. Furthermore, cultural excursions will be organized next to the company visits.
How to apply
Participation in the trip is possible for all current members of the S.G. “William Froude”, who are in the last phase of their BSc programme or just starting their MSc programme. For the full list of requirements, please check the FAQ page!
